Color Matching

Our Datacolor spectrophotometer reads a color and our Fluid Management dispenser mixes it. That covers competitor fan decks, a chip off a wall, a piece of trim, a fabric sample, or a photo you bring in.

How it works

  1. Pick your paint line, sheen and size, then tell us the color at checkout. Type a color code, describe the shade, or upload a photo.
  2. We confirm the match before we mix. If your code is from another brand, we read it and match it here.
  3. Pick it up in Brooklyn or we deliver it across NYC.

Tinting is free. Custom tinted paint is mixed for your order and cannot be returned, so we confirm the color with you before we mix.

How much paint do you need

One gallon covers 300 to 400 square feet in one coat. Two coats is what actually happens on a wall, so plan on half of that per gallon.

Room or job Two coats, walls only
Small bedroom, about 10 by 12 2 gallons
Living room, about 15 by 20 3 gallons
One bedroom apartment, walls and ceilings 1 five gallon pail
Two bedroom apartment, walls and ceilings 2 five gallon pails
Hallway and stairwell, one floor 2 to 3 gallons
Building corridor, 100 linear feet 2 five gallon pails

Doing the math yourself: measure the perimeter of the room, multiply by the ceiling height, that is your wall area. Subtract nothing for windows and doors unless there are a lot of them. Divide by 350, then double it for two coats.

Not sure? Call (718) 594 9337 with your measurements and we will tell you what to buy. We would rather you order the right amount than send back a pail you did not need.
